Dr Jee Kong
Dr. Jee Kong obtained his medical qualifications from Flinders University of South Australia and is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). He holds dual specialist qualifications in General Medicine and Gastroenterology.
His current appointments are at St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals accepting both public and private referrals, Royal Perth Hospital including the Statewide Manometry Service and Northam Hospital.
Dr. Kong is experienced in investigating and managing a wide range of acute and chronic gastroenterology and hepatology conditions. He has a particular interest in oesophageal function testing (manometry and pH studies) and hepatology, as well a broad interest in all gastroenterology disorders.
Dr. Kong is accredited to perform gastroscopy and colonoscopy by the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (CCRTGE) and receives referrals for direct access endoscopy including for colorectal cancer screening.

Dr Michael Ma
Dr Ma graduated from University of Western Australia with Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with Honours and is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Gastroenterology.
Following completion of Gastroenterology training in Perth, Dr Ma completed two advanced endoscopy fellowships, at Royal Perth Hospital and Westmead Hospital, Sydney, an internationally recognised endoscopic referral centre. In addition, he has authored a number of publications in peer reviewed journals and book chapters on gastroenterology and advanced endoscopy. He remains actively involved in teaching and research activities.
Dr Ma holds current appointments at St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals, and Fiona Stanley and Fremantle Hospitals. He has particular interest in pancreaticobiliary disease, Barrett’s oesophagus, advanced endoscopic procedures including ERCP, EUS, and endoscopic resection of large polyps, colorectal cancer screening and all aspects of adult gastroenterology.

Dr Kenji So
Dr. So graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2003 and completed his advanced gastroenterology training in Perth. He attained his specialist qualification in 2011, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).
In 2011 Dr. So embarked on a two-year clinical and research fellowship in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and Gastroenterology in Exeter, UK, with a focus on complex IBD management, IBD pharmacogenetic and general luminal gastroenterology.
Dr. So has a keen interest in inflammatory bowel disease, as well as coeliac disease, iron deficiency anaemia, colonoscopy, gastroscopy, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, bowel cancer screening and general adult gastroenterology. He currently holds consultant posts at St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospital and Royal Perth Hospital.

Dr Tee Ching Hun
Dr Hun graduated from the University of Western Australia with Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with Honours in 2006. She completed a Hepatology Research fellowship at Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) and Gastroenterology and Hepatology advanced training at RPH and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH), with an interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease and attained specialist qualification in 2015.
She is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) and is accredited to perform gastroscopy and colonoscopy by the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (CCRTGE).
Dr Hun previously held a position as a Gastroenterologist at SCGH and currently holds a consultant post at St John of God Midland Public Hospital. She has a keen interest in inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease, iron deficiency anaemia, functional functional gut disorders and general hepatology disorders. She receives referrals for direct access endoscopy including colorectal cancer screening. Dr Hun is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay.

Dr Michael Lim
Dr Michael Lim is a consultant gastroenterologist who treats all adult gastroenterological conditions with a special interest in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and gastro-immunology.
Michael was born in Singapore and, after completing national service, moved to Australia. He completed his medical degree (MBBS) in 2009 from the University of Western Australia and attained specialty recognition in gastroenterology (FRACP) in 2020. During his specialist training he also completed a Master’s degree from the University of Edinburgh with a thesis in Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
To further his sub-speciality interest, he undertook a local fellowship at Fiona Stanley Hospital and a prestigious overseas fellowship at the University of Oxford’s UK medical school teaching hospital, the John Radcliffe Hospital with a focus on complex IBD management, IBD biologics and gastro-immunological research.
Michael is passionate about patient care and believes that the patient is an active, important part of the treatment process. He promotes a safe, non-judgemental space for discussion of any issues and provides information for patients to make an informed choice about their health.
He treats both public and private patients at St John of God Midland Hospital.

Dr Suresh Ponnusamy
Dr Suresh Ponnusamy earned a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Stanley Medical College in Chennai, India. He completed his Basic Physician Training at Prince Charles Hospital in the UK and Royal Perth Hospital in Western Australia between 2004 and 2012.
From 2013 to 2015, Suresh Ponnusamy pursued Advanced Training in Gastroenterology at various hospitals in Queensland, including Royal Brisbane Hospital and The Prince Charles Hospital. He further specialised in inflammatory bowel disease at Canberra Hospital and received additional training in small bowel capsule endoscopy at Royal Perth Hospital in 2016.
Suresh Ponnusamy is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in the UK (MRCP) and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). His areas of expertise include inflammatory bowel disease, hepatology, and endoscopic procedures.
Since 2016, he has worked as a consultant Gastroenterologist at St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals, providing care to both public and private patients. He also sees private patients through Midland Gastroenterology and Midland Medical Specialists.

Dr Abhey Singh
Dr Abhey Singh is a Perth trained Gastroenterologist. After completing his Advanced Gastroenterology training in Perth, he undertook a two year clinical and research fellowship in Inflammatory Bowel Disease from Exeter, UK focusing on management of complex inflammatory bowel disease as well as research into IBD pharmacogenetics.
He has keen interest in inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease, eosinophilic oesophagitis, functional gut disorders as well as general adult gastroenterology and endoscopy. He holds public appointments at Fiona Stanley Hospital, Fremantle Hospital and Rockingham Hospital.

Dr Tim Mitchell
Dr Tim Mitchell is a locally trained gastroenterologist and hepatologist.
Following advanced training in Perth, Tim completed clinical fellowships in hepatology at Fiona Stanley Hospital and King’s College Hospital in London with an emphasis on viral hepatitis, liver transplantation and advanced chronic liver disease.
Tim has public appointments at St John of God Midland Public Hospital and Royal Perth Hospital where he is a member of the liver cancer multidisciplinary team.
He also attends the liver transplant clinic and listing meeting at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. He is actively involved in clinical research, with a particular interest in alcohol related liver disease, portal hypertension and viral hepatitis.
